abstract = {Oncology is the branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancers.
Cancers are diseases that involve the abnormal and excessive growth of cells which have the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. Most cases of cancers are due to environmental factors such as Tobacco use, diet, obesity, infections, radiation and environmental pollutants.
Tumours are divided into two: benign and malignant tumours. The clinical features of cancers depend on the region of involvement but generally include swelling, loss of function, pain, abnormal spontaneous bleeding, unexplained weight loss, prolonged cough and disturbance of movement of the bowels. Common sites of cancers are the lungs, stomach, liver, colon, rectum and breast. No part of the human body is exempted from cancers.
There are many treatment options for cancers. These include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, and hormonal therapy. The treatment depends on the site, type and the stage of the cancer. The management of cancers is multidisciplinary.

abstract = {The face constitutes a small part in terms of size, it is more obvious than any other part of the body and is of major importance in the individuality and look. The sense organs of smell, vision, hearing, and taste are located within the face and these structures play very important roles in function and appearance. The face is the central focus in interpersonal relationships; therefore any alterations in the facial appearance will have serious emotional and psychological effects on an individual because the facial region is more apparent than any other region of the human body.
This edition focuses on Dento-facial Aesthetics which includes prosthetic management of post-surgical patients, the management of Cancrum Oris patients and facial nerve palsy. Burns injuries, discoloured teeth, fractured teeth and missing teeth pose a serious psychological impact on the individual. Hence the need to widen the scope of knowledge of the clinicians and stimulate interest in the field of dento-facial aesthetics. },

abstract = {Trauma is described as an injury to the tissue characterized by structural changes resulting from acute exposure to mechanical, thermal, electrical or chemical energy. Trauma accounts for over 10% of all hospital admissions and it results in morbidity and mortality in countries all over the world. About 50% of trauma deaths occur at the site of the accident with several patients requiring admission to the hospital. Trauma can occur anywhere and anytime and affects all ages. Trauma is associated with serious emotional and psychological impacts in the society.
This edition, however, features the management of trauma in our society including the cardiothoracic considerations in the management of facial fractures in the pediatrics population, basic life support system and the role of trauma in oral pathology. This journal also reflects the interdisciplinary approach in the management of trauma.},
